
The Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapy (VNT) service is committed to supporting infants and young children with developmental difficulties and their whānau to improve function, activity and participation by optimising developmental progress. The service provides holistic strength-based therapy, education and support in the home and community, in partnership with family/whānau/caregivers
The VNT Association is committed to advancing the learning and education of clinicians and consumers on matters relating to VNT through a supportive community of practice, online resources and educational opportunities, including conferences. Members have access to financial support for ongoing education.
What does a VNT do
A VNT is either a physiotherapy or occupational therapy trained paediatric therapist, who has specialist knowledge in neonatal and early child development and works in a transdisciplinary and holistic model where all areas of development are supported. Therapy is delivered in the context of the family setting, i.e. home, but can also be provided in a daycare/preschool or outpatient clinics. VNT’s work within a public health funded service.
